About me

I frequently hear my clients say "talking to you has really helped me".  In my private, peaceful counselling room, located on the eastern edge of Southampton close to Wickham, Fareham, Botley, Hedge End, Swanmore, Bishops Waltham, Droxford, Hambledon, and Locks Heath you can talk confidentially to an established professional.

I have many years experience both as a counsellor and a trainer of counsellors, so I can provide you with professional, confidential counselling, where in a safe and supportive space, we can explore together any concerns or issues that may be troubling you or that you would like to talk over.

There are times when most people experience difficulties which may be eased by talking to someone who is independent, yet has the capacity, skills and experience to listen and understand.

From our work together my clients tell me that being listened to and understood in a non-judgemental way is one of the most valuable aspects of counselling. I have many years experience of being a counsellor working with a wide range of different issues and with people from all walks of life.

I have taught counselling in a number of different training establishments and on BACP Accredited Diplomas. I have also facilitated Personal and Professional Development groups as part of counsellor training and run workshops on different counselling models as well as teaching specific modules on Bereavement/Loss/Grief and Abuse. This has enabled me to gain a wealth of experience and to keep my skills and knowledge fresh and up to date especially, as an accredited counsellor with BACP, I undertake 40 hours of Continuing Professional Development each year.

I can work with you either in time-limited (6 to 12 sessions) or open-ended counselling, whichever is appropriate. Our work together would aim for you to have clearer choices about the future enabling you to decide the best way forward for yourself.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
