Nicola Coombs MBACP (Accred) BSCPC (Founder)
I specialise in working with couples, or individuals in a couple relationship. My clients often seek help when they are unable to communicate or feel in crisis, and find it difficult to see a way forward.
In my experience, however, this can also be a time of movement and greater understanding.
Life changes can alter the dynamic of the couple relationship. These changes might be, for example, a forthcoming marriage, the birth of a child, a bereavement, retirement or health difficulties. Being in a relationship at these difficult times can sometimes trigger confusing feelings.
Together, in the course of the therapy, we can explore these feelings and look at the possibilities for change. I provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have had career spanning the business and voluntary sectors before training as a couple therapist.
I trained with the London Marriage Guidance Council (LMG), gaining their Postgraduate Diploma in Marital and Psychodynamic Counselling and the Psychosexual Therapy Bridging Course. I then worked for LMG and Relationship Counselling for London at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships, whilst having my own private practice in Harley Street, London, W1
I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Accredited Counsellor, a founder member of the British association of Couple Psychotherapists and Counsellors and a UKRCP registered independant counsellor.
