About me

Welcome, I hold a 1st class BA (Hons) and work as a professional Psychotherapist/Counsellor offering a friendly, confidential, non-judgemental, safe-space to those wishing to explore and understand their life difficulties. I have 18 years experience working in the field which includes: relationships, anxiety, abuse, trauma, low self esteem/self confidence, bereavement, depression, addiction, sexuality, anger, illness/disability to name but a few. I work among peaceful surroundings using a face to face approach where no topic is considered unworthy or too small.

In addition, I've worked as Primary Tutor to university students on BA (Hons) Psychotherapy & Counselling Degree programmes and curently provide Consultancy/Supervisory support for other professional Psychotherapists/Counsellors.

Sadly we can all experience times in our lives where the strength of our emotions seem to overwhelm us. Feelings such as anger, sadness, confusion, desperation, helplessness or despair can ultimately lead to feelings of not coping. Psychotherapy/Counselling is a really useful way to help us make sense of these emotions alongside the root to their appearance, so bringing us fresh understanding and peace.

I appreciate how daunting it can be searching for a Psychotherapist/Counsellor who feels right for you and this simply reflects the need to feel comfortable with your choice. You may find it helpful to arrange an initial session with your chosen therapist where the time can be used to sensitively look at the things troubling you. This also provides you with a 'feel for the process’ before deciding to embark on further sessions. This is common practice in the world of Psychotherapy/Counselling and can prove useful.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any queries regarding my qualifications, experience, or practice.

Should you wish to make an appointment please use the contact details provided (please note the landline does NOT receive texts). If I'm unavailable when you call please feel free to leave a clear message containing your name and contact number and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Many thanks for your interest and I look forward to speaking with you soon...

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
