About me
From time to time, we can feel overwhelmed, or lost or even find ourselves in the same patterns as many times before without knowing a way out. We can become anxious, depressed or confused about how we are living our lives. We can also be wondering about how to change our lives and live differently in the future. This may be particularly true during the current changes and upheaval that we may be experiencing in our home and work lives.
As a qualified and experienced psychotherapist, I have been working with people to help them with these and similar problems for the last 20 years. I offer straightforward, jargon-free psychotherapy and counselling: currently I am working entirely online with a view to resuming face to face work in both Holborn, central London and Stoke Newington, north east London.
In my practice I aim to address a wide range of distress - anxiety, stress, depression, addiction, eating disorders, realtionship issues - and many other problems associated with living. Therapy can provide a time and place for two people to meet and talk and aims to help you move towards a more fruitful and meaningful existence and can help you manage your life more effectively.
If you feel that you would like to know more, I offer a free, initial 30-minute consultation so that we can meet and talk through ways in which therapy may be of help.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MA in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am accredited with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy: these are the two main professional and regulatory bodies within the UK.
I abide by the Codes of Ethics and Practice of both UKCP and BACP. In addition, my work is supervised by a UKCP registered psychotherapist and supervisor.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
