About me

The hardest thing is to take that first step and figure out what’s happening in your life, to trust someone with what you’re going to tell them, your most private thoughts or feelings or what’s happened to you. You deserve to live a life that leaves you excited to wake up every morning, free of emotional pain and distress.

Your story is not trivial, and I’m ready to listen and help you to find the answers you need and support you with the appropriate coping mechanisms.

Many people see counselling as a one-way engagement, but that is not the case. My way of working is to help you to work through problems, find solutions and help you to make any life changes. The jargon for my general way of working is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but I also use other forms of working to help achieve a positive outcome.

Speaking to a therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you’ll make that call and see how I can help you. Therapy doesn’t have to be painful but a process of enlightenment and self-realisation, allowing you to make practical changes in your life and improve your well-being.

As a therapist in private practice over the last fifteen years, I have helped many individuals and couples to find solutions and understanding. I also provide supervision and support for other counsellors as a Supervisor registered with the BACP.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
