My Background & Service
I am a fully qualified Counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2007. My background training is in the Humanistic models using an Integrative approach, I provide a professional service for clients in a friendly confidential environment within a quiet residential area. I work one to one with adult clients developing a trusting therapeutic relationship, this can then provide a secure base from which to explore issues and difficulties. My role as a counsellor is to help you discuss thoughts and feelings that may not have been spoken about before, this can sometimes be upsetting but it can also bring a sense of relief and understanding which can provide a way of moving forward.
Some of my Experience.
I have worked in private practice providing long & short term counselling for adults since 2009 , currently my practice is run from home (although separate building from the house) in a quiet residential area.
During my training I was based in a GP surgery providing time limited therapy. After qualifying, I went into bereavement counselling and became a bereavement support volunteer for St. Christopher's hospice in London for two years. I also have experience working with children as a Counsellor with the organisation 'The place2Be' which involves working therapeutically with children in schools, later going on to Counselling as a Sessional School Counsellor for Gateway Connect in Primary Schools across Thurrock.
My background history before Counselling has mainly been in the Caring field including a Care assistant for 'End of Life' Care, Foster Carer and Personal Carer for a family member.
In my private practice I will meet you as an equal Human being, you can feel safe in the knowledge that you will not be judged in anyway and together we will find the best way forward for you.
