About me

I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist offering Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling.I have over 30 years experience of working with individuals and with couples. I have also been an accredited supervisor since 1988. See more in the supervisors section
The work may be short term with a particular focus at a period of crisis or change or longer term individual psychotherapy. We determine this at an initial assessment session where we explore the issues that the client is bringing and then by mutual agreement we may set up a working contract with regular reviews to monitor our work.
I have completed 3 major forms of training including Psychodynamic, Systemic( related to couple work), and Humanistic (Gestalt) and have integrated these and other ways of working into my practice. My MSc is in Integrative Psychotherapy.
I also have many years experience running Gestalt therapy groups, which offer other possibilities of of therapeutic development to the group members.
I have run many differently themed workshops for professional counsellors and therapists for their personal development.
My earlier background experience was in management training and teambuilding work in various organisations.

Further information

In my therapeutic work with clients my primary objective is to establish a trusting relationship where they can develop in the ways that are growthful for them and bring their concerns and distress. My way of working is holistic taking into account the client's thinking, feelings and body sensations as these are all interrelated. We work creatively together in the sessions where I use my skills and experience to further the client's insights and to uncover and tackle the blocks to fulfilling relationships, to their personal development and to their confidence so that they can change in the ways that are appropriate for them.
In my experience clients in psychotherapeutic work often develop spiritually and creatively. I have worked with several artists and musicians and am very interested in how psychotherapy can enhance their work.
My consulting room in rural north east Herefordshire borders Shropshire and Worcestershire and is within 30mins of the Gloucestershire border. Clients also come from Birmingham.
