About me
Do you suffer from anxiety, stress or depression, related to work or relationships? Or are you a couple struggling to keep it together? Counselling is an opportunity for you to change your lives.
Life is full of stress and worries and it can be hard to manage your feelings. Sometimes you may find it hard to control your anger and you may be looking for some counselling, which will help you identify underlying triggers. For others, you may be troubled by feelings of anxiety, panic, confusion or depression. Counselling can help you understand your problem, develop new perspectives and help you move on to a more satisfying life.
If you are in need of couples counselling, I will give you both space to talk about your problems and I will guide you so that you feel safe and heard. When communication breaks down, resentments often grow and counselling is a good opportunity to address underlying issues so that you can really understand each other's needs.
If you are having relationship issues and your partner doesn't want to come for counselling, I would be happy to see you on your own. If your relationship has already broken down, I offer counselling support for separation and divorce.
I have been working as a counsellor for 20 years, integrating the humanistic approach with CBT therapy. My approach is sensitive to your needs and I will do my best to help you feel comfortable and safe to explore your problems in a warm and confidential environment.
So, if you are troubled by any form of depression, stress or anxiety, whether it's related to work or relationships, please contact me and I will help you explore these issues, so that you have the chance to set yourself free and move towards a more fulfilling future. Life can be different.

Experience
In the past I have worked at a busy GP surgery and I have counselled many people suffering from anxiety, panic attacks, depression and bereavement.
For 10 years I worked on a drug and alcohol programme. This has given me invaluable experience in helping people to explore underlying problems, such as low self esteem, and relationship issues. My role involved group therapy and facilitation, and I also ran sessions on understanding anger, relationships and assertiveness.
Having worked ad hoc with some local businesses, I have helped many people with work-related issues, involving stress, redundancy and low confidence.
I have also worked as a tutor at a local university, teaching counselling skills. In addition, I have taught listening skills at an open prison in the Isle of Sheppey.
My work also involves seeing counselling students, both as clients and supervisees and I really enjoy seeing trainees develop and grow in self awareness and confidence.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
