About me

I have some availability for therapy in person as well as online. If you are interested in booking an appointment, please contact me to schedule a 20-minute free phone consultation and we can discuss further.

Life in a city can be exciting as well as daunting, making it easy to feel overwhelmed or alone and at loss of where to start. In times of uncertainty, therapy can help making things a bit easier. I see clients for counselling and therapy online, or in person from my practice in South Kensington.

What once started out as helping people from the Swedish community to feel settled and adjusted in their move to UK, has now expanded to providing safe, confidential psychotherapy and counselling on a wide range of difficulties for all nationalities.

The decision to start therapy is an important step to take, it can be daunting at first as you might be unsure of what to expect, this is normal, trust is important and develops gradually. With time you might find that your therapy sessions provides you with great support and hope through difficult times.

My approach to counselling is psychodynamic, drawing from unconscious processes of the psyche along with looking at how patterns in past relationships may influence the way we act in the present. Many factors from our varying experiences as children can form how we choose to deal with challenges and situations we are faced with as adults. I aim to develop a client's self -awareness and to provide clarity as to why we feel and behave the way we do.

As a BACP Accredited member I am committed to providing therapy in a supportive, safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. I work with adults and young adults on an open-ended basis or for a shorter time limited period.

Psychodynamic Therapy can help you with relationships, family or friendship issues. It can show the way to more healthy and authentic relationships and help sustaining them. Psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling can be particularly helpful in dealing with low self-esteem, general anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, loneliness or depression.

Therapy can help with transitions and life changes such as: bereavement, divorce and relationship breakups. Positive changes such as moving, starting university or a new job, getting married or starting a family can be both exciting and difficult. I can get help you through loss as well as finding a way forward.

You will not be told what to do but I will effectively guide and support you in making your own choices. If you have questions or want to speak to me before booking an initial appointment, please send me an email or leave a message and we can arrange for a suitable time to talk.

You can find more information about me on my website.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Moving from one country to another can be exciting as well as unsettling. I have a long experience working with people from all nationalities and cultures. Whether you have come to England to work or study, living here permanently or for a limited time, it is easy to feel isolated and home sick at times. I can help you with issues around cultural differences, supporting you as well as providing a way forward.

Sometimes people experience that issues from the past keeps interfering with the 'fresh start' they might have hoped for, therapy can help untangle what is going on. I speak both Swedish and English.
