About me

One-to-One Counselling

My counselling style is to listen as carefully as I can to your problems and concerns, getting as clear an understanding as I can of how these affect you, and what you would like to do about them.

From there I help you find your own way forward in restoring a level of contentment and well-being to your life.

The work may be short term, or it may take longer.  We would work at your pace.

I offer an introductory session of half an hour free of charge for individuals.

Couples Counselling

The emphasis here is on the relationship between you both, how that has changed, and the problems this is causing between you. 

I aim to provide a safe situation where your difficulties can be explored, without blame or shame, and new behaviours developed to make your relationship more manageable and enjoyable.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have the following qualifications:

Diploma in Professional Counselling
Foundation certificate in Family Therapy
Advanced Certificate in Couples and Relationship Counselling.

I have tutored on counselling courses at Certificate and Diploma levels, supervising students on those courses.  I also act as a supervisor for counsellors.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a UKRCP registered Independent Counsellor working within their framework for ethics and confidentiality.

My charges are £40 per hour for one-to-one counselling and £50 per hour for couples counselling, although these may be negotiable in case of hardship.
