We inevitably face challenges throughout our lives, may be feeling stuck or just not sure about life at the moment. It may be that you are experiencing difficulties within your relationships, feel depressed or anxious, or that you are not getting the most out of your life. Perhaps you have suffered many losses, emotional or physical abuse, neglect, bereavement or trauma. Or you might just be feeling generally anxious and continuously worried most of the time and unsure of the reason why.  

As an experienced Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with 20 years of experience in mental health and 18 of clinical experience as a counsellor/psychotherapist, I know that these types of problems can lead to a deep sense of unhappiness, often due to the the relationship we have with ourselves and other people. 

I offer open ended and short term Counselling. I have helped adults & young adults with depression, anxiety, sadness, lack of motivation, loss, low self esteem, family relationship issues, self harm, angry feelings, bereavement, trauma, & many more. Experienced in Yoga - I am a trained Yoga teacher as I am very interested in the body/mind connection, I believe the body holds onto emotions, therefore, working with the body can be a very healing physically and emotionally. I can integrate yoga and mindfulness into my therapy which gives another dimension to the work if this is of interest.

 I have 11 years of experience working in the voluntary and private sector, open ended, short term and initial assessment for PCT [Primary Care Trust]. EAP Counsellor (employment assistant programmes). I have also trained as a Bereavement counsellor at the Watford Peace Hospice.
My background is in the NHS, having worked in a variety of Mental Health settings promoting emotional well-being.
