My name is Cheryl King and I am an experienced, accredited Person Centred/ Integrative counsellor and supervisor. I also offer CBT. I work with adults of all ages, couples and young people through my private practice. I have extensive experience working as a counsellor and supervisor in education, and with various organisations and workplace clients. I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within the BACP ethical framework. I am a BUPA recognised Mental Health Practitioner and hold enhanced DBS certification.
I offer flexible daytime and some evening appointments in a confidential, safe and understanding environment for you to explore your experiences, feelings and needs, enabling growth and change to happen. I work using video conferencing applications such as FaceTime and WhatsApp, but also offer face to face therapy from a private therapy room in Highnam, just outside Gloucester. I also run a private practice based in Preston in Lancashire.

Training, qualifications & experience
As a counsellor I work with adults of all ages, couples and young people through my private practice, dealing with a wide range of issues. I have extensive experience in education, working as a Counsellor and supervisor with schools, colleges and Universities. As a supervisor I work with counsellors in training as well as recently qualified and experienced counsellors.
I believe that ongoing education and training backed up by broad experience are important to promote and support quality practice. My qualifications and formal training include the following:

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Each counselling session or supervision session is 60 minutes.
My fees are:
£50 for individual therapy or supervision
£60 for couples.
£45 for students
EAPs/ organisations/ Groups by arrangement
Weekdays 8 to 5. Some evening appointments are also available.
I work in a private setting in Highnam, about three miles West of Gloucester. I offer a completely confidential service.
