About me
A warm and thoughtful registered counsellor and psychotherapist, I specialise in couples counselling, relationship issues, anxiety, depression and anger management. I welcome LGBT clients. I offer daytime appointments. I practise in Clapton, Hackney, London E5.
I offer you the opportunity to deal with crises and difficulties in your life, and to develop and deepen your understanding and awareness of yourself - who you are, where you have come from and where you are going. Through gentle conversation and reflection, you will be supported to find ways forward that work for you.
Prior to training as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked for many years in book publishing in a variety of roles, including Sales Director and later Joint Managing Director of The Women's Press. I previously worked as a social worker, a family caseworker and community worker, and in a therapeutic community for people with alcohol issues.
I am trained in a wide range of therapeutic models and I tailor my approach to the individual person. I will listen to you attentively and thoughtfully, respond with genuine interest and concern, and preserve the integrity and confidentiality of the therapeutic relationship.
I offer couples counselling, individual counselling, short term counselling and longer term psychotherapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
Prior to establishing my private psychotherapy and counselling practice, I worked as a counsellor at City & Hackney MIND.
I previously trained and worked as a social worker, a family caseworker and community worker, and worked in a therapeutic community for people with alcohol issues.

Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
