About me

I am a very experienced, qualified and Senior BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) Accredited Couple and Individual Therapist and a COSRT Accredited (Council of Sexual and Relationship Therapists) Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist. I hold an MSc in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy from the respected TCCR (Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships).

Appointments are daytime and evening, my last being 8.45pm. I now work from Great Sampford near Saffron Walden in Essex. I have had a Private Practice in EC2, worked in the NHS and Private Healthcare.

I am primarily an Integrative Counsellor, responding to my client(s) as unique individuals. The issues clients bring can be historic or current but primarily this is a working relationship. As a working relationship I encourage clients to come for an initial session to explore whether it feels the right place for them, that they feel comfortable and understood and we can work together. Clients are free to ask all they need that will help that decision. It can seem a strange new experience and your ability to choose the right Counsellor for you is vital. You can of course take some time to make that decision, no pressure will be made to make your next appointment.

I am primarily a couple and relationship specialist (including intimacy and sexual issues) but also work with many EAP's (Company Employee Assistance Programmes) and I work with a fairly equal proportion of men, women and couples. I work short and long term. I am a BUPA, Aviva and Simply Health approved practioner and other Healthcare Providers via Psychiatric referral. I am an Accredited Member of COSRT and a Senior Accredited BACP Member.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.

All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
