About me
Would you like to feel more confident and self-assured? Are you currently overwhelmed by anxiety and/or difficult thoughts and feelings? Are you looking to make life changes and/or improve your relationships? Are you recently bereaved? I am an experienced counsellor working in East London and am BACP accrecited. My practice is non-discriminatory (I work within an equal opportunties framework) and undertake individual and couples/relationship counselling work. Experience:
I have considerable experience (17 years) working in both long-term and brief therapy (NHS GP referral work) in both an agency and community based setting. I also have my own private practice.
Expertise:
I have worked effectively with a broad range of clients (adults and young people) and their issues i.e. anxiety, depression, post-natal depression, debt, sexuality, bereavement and loss, relationship, couple, unemployment, dementia. I have also undertaken some drug and alcohol work. My commitment to further developing my insight and expertise is ongoing through continuing training (personal and professional development).

All client work undertaken is private and confidential with the exclusion of evidence of breach of The Children & Young Person's Act and the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

I am also able to co-counsel both Parent & Young Person to resolve conflict(s) for improved relatonship understanding. My youth and community work profile is 35 yrs experience.
I am a trained Youth & Community worker and hold a certificate in Youth Mentoring.
I was awarded a Civic Award for my Youth & Community Work by the Mayor of Waltham Forest in 2005.

I can offer creative exploration techniques (artwork and visualisation) if requested and appropriate to the counselling work.

Counselling Supervision
As a qualified Integrative Counselling Supervisor I currently supervise bereavement counsellors in an NHS setting.
Additionally, I supervise/assess Youth and Community trainees and trainee supervisors for the YMCA George Williams College.
I am available to supervise privately one-to-one and in a group setting.

Further information
I am trained and informed primarily by the approach of Carl Rogers (Person Centred) but enhanced by the existential approaches of Emmy Van Duerzen and Rollo May (amongst others.) I am trained in Humanistic, Psychodynamic and CBT approaches and can work integratively according to client need.
I work integratively with couples experiencing relationship difficulties.
I am a mature practitioner whose commitment to my own personal, spiritual and professional development is ongoing. I am a practicing member of the London College of Spirituality.
My practice is regularly supervised by an accredited BACP supervisor in accordance with BACP Practice Guidelines.
