I have trained as a Psychotherapist at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (https://artspsychotherapy.org) and I am accredited as a Psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (https://psychotherapy.org.uk). I have over 15 years experience in the field of counselling and psychotherapy gained in private practice, the NHS, primary education and with Employer Assisted Programmes.
I offer one-to-one short term solution focused (minimum 6 weeks) counselling for those looking to address a specific issue, or long term psychotherapy for those who want to undertake a more in-depth exploration of how past patterns of relationships may be impacting current relationships. At times when we feel like life is a struggle and we feel lost, we may rely on unhelpful and unhealthy ways to manage emotionally painful memories and our current distress.
I am able to offer a confidential therapeutic space to enable you to begin to make sense of your experiences and to help facilitate the changes that you may want to make.
Additionally, I offer clinical supervision to individuals and groups who are seeking to reflect on and discuss their clinical work.
I also offer training and workshops on themes relating to counselling and psychotherapy. These events can be tailored according to the needs of the organisation and/or participants.
I have been a visiting lecturer at the Metropolitan University and a Professional Advisor for YoungMinds (a charity fighting for children and young people's mental health) https://youngminds.org.uk

UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Areas of counselling I deal with
£60.00 per 50 minute session (including the exploratory session). Payment is required at the end of each session by BACS transfer.
There is no fee for an initial telephone consultation.
I currently have daytime and evening availability during the week.
Before commencing Counselling or Psychotherapy, I will offer an exploratory session to discuss whether this work is suitable for you. It will give you a chance to ask any questions that may not have been covered in this profile, and it will also give you the opportunity to get to know me and the style in which I work.
Often the way we relate to those around us is based on the past patterns of relating that we have experienced in childhood. There are times in our life when we need a safe and confidential space to begin to explore and make sense of the less helpful experiences and behaviours that can lead to the breakdown of important personal and professional relationships around us. At times this experience can leave us feeling confused and unable to make sense of ourselves. Accessing support through counselling and psychotherapy can help us to gain a deeper understanding of our patterns of relating to ourselves and others, and how they may be changed to enable more fulfilling relationships.
My practice is located within a 10 minute walk from Bromley South Station. It is also served by a range of good local bus services linking Bromley Common, Orpington, Hayes and West Wickham.
