Ani de la Prida
I work with adults, children, young people and couples. I believe that every person is individual, and has the potential to fully realise their unique qualities. My intention is to provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for us to explore the issues affecting you. I'll support you so you can discover your own inner resources and the best way forward for you to heal or change.
I am a psychotherapist and creative arts counsellor and I can work in a variety of ways, for example with art, creative media, or guided visualisations. I am happy to explain or explore with you if you would like to use this way of working. Working with art can be helpful when it's difficult or painful to talk, or you can't find the right words. Working in this way can be very powerful. You do not need to have any special skills or be good at art or drawing
I am currently working online although usually I work in a bright and friendly room, offering both long and short term counselling. I have over 18 years experience of working with people from all walks of life with all types of issues and problems.
I have particular experience with issues such as addiction, sexual abuse, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties and stress. I also work with people who wish to explore issues such as their life direction, self esteem, confidence, or for personal development.
I have a special interest and additional training in working with children and young people, art therapy, play therapy, creative ways of working and nutrition.
I am based in the town centre, a short walk from Brentwood Station. I am approximately 10 mins drive from the M25 and I have parking available. I can also offer Saturday appointments.
As a member of BACP I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy which can be found at www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework.
I am happy to have a chat on the phone if you have any questions.
I cannot always answer my phone, but please do leave a message and a number that I can reach you on and I will return your call as soon as I can. Alternatively you can email me and I will contact you as soon as I can, usually within 24 hours.
I also offer clinical supervision to counsellors.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
