About me

Since qualifying in I have worked with mainly with adults many of whom have struggled with the impact of being the offspring of a narcissistic parent, or have been a boarding school or sibling abuse survivor, who find themselves holding onto a secret and/or have felt stuck or confused in a significant relationship.

If you are finding it difficult to 'be' you, and struggle with close family relationships, or if you receive criticism for being shut off or locked away, experience outbursts of anger, panic attacks, or unexplained anxiety, then I can help you.

I am trained in Integrative Psychotherapy which means I draw upon a number of theories and practices to help you feel more comfortable in yourself.  I have a particular skill in working long term, particularly with older men,  and I have been told I'm a good listener.  I am interested in the impact that the early years of childhood have on later life, especially where childhood has been impacted by the behaviours of responsible adults and/or the experience of surviving boarding school.

I worked for many years in legal practice and as a workplace mediator and understand the impact that the pressures of life in the commercial world can have on individuals especially where the pressures lead to the misuse (not addiction) of substances as a coping strategy or conflicts with others, whether at home or at work.

My style of working is relaxed and encourages you to explore your thoughts, dreams, fears and life experiences at a pace that suits you.
