About me

If you are experiencing difficulty in your life it can sometimes cloud everything that you do.

My name is Debbie Coe and I am a qualified Integrative counsellor. I work in a person centred way and integrate aspects of other approaches and models to suit individual needs. I have also trained and secured Diploma's in Child Psychology, Psychology, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy(CBT), Mediation and Equine Assisted Therapy.

The counselling relationship is very special, important and unique in that it allows for exploration of concerns without the unnecessary complication of feeling judged. Lots of people can be put off by sharing long held beliefs and concerns with a stranger but the very essence of counselling is being able to talk to someone that is not emotionally attached to you. When a secure, trusting and non-judgemental relationship with your therapist has been built change can and does happen.

I too have experienced uncertainty and fear about sharing how I feel but taking a few chances and trusting myself has been the most liberating experience of all. I am happy to have an informal chat before you make any decisions and if you want to move forward after that then we can arrange an appointment. You are an individual with your own particular needs and wants and counselling can help you to understand yourself better as well as help you make healthier choices.

I work from home in Nordelph, just outside Downham Market and deliver face to face settings in a comfortable and safe environment, which is private, boundaried and professional. Sessions last for 50 minutes.

I am an accredited member of the BACP and adhere to their Code of Ethics.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
