About me

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor/Psychotherapist. My work is based on the person-centred approach, which regards each individual as a person of worth and dignity with the capacity for healing and for self-direction. I have over 20 years of training and experience in meditation and mindfulness practice.

How I can help

In Counselling (Psychotherapy) it is my intention to create a safe environment where issues that are troubling you can be explored. These experiences such as anxiety, depression or other difficult experiences can be helped by being in relation to a person-centred counsellor. It is a time where you can be yourself and investigate what is happening for you in the present moment. Humanistic experiences such as existential living and bereavement issues can be mindfully and gently reflected on. This therapeutic relationship is confidential. Its core principles are authenticity, acceptance and empathy.

I offer a therapeutic relationship that is based on authenticity, acceptance (warmth) and empathy, which enables the individual to grow and make changes where necessary; in their life and in their relationships.I can work with a wide range of areas some of these include:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • relationship issues
  • bereavement

What I can personally offer you

Authenticity is very important to me in my own life. I continue to explore this process of being fully present with the intention of empowering the therapeutic relationship. I also trust that when awareness is shone on the individual's felt-sense (body knowledge) experience, transformation/change can take place.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
