Mindfulness training and experiential practice.
Mindfulness is increasingly used in a variety of settings for help with all kinds of emotional struggles and life crises. I incorporate mindfulness principles in all my work with people as relevant.
Fully trained to level 3 in EMDR a specialist intervention for working with various forms of distress including trauma, anxiety and depression.
I am registered with 2 professional bodies: the British Psychological Society and the Health Care and Professions Council.
I work with people to help them enhance their quality of life and sort through various problems and difficulties whether it be to do with relationship breakdown or other life events that cause stress and anxiety or a place to discuss existential issues and personal development and resilience issues.
I work with all kinds of human experience including traumatic incidents or periods of life and bereavement. I also work with relationships in crisis with individuals, couples and groups and particularly with traumas that are either caused by relationships or affect relationships.
Struggling with work related stress is a theme people bring to therapy. Some of the issues of concern that people are struggling with are loss of self esteem, self image, loss of direction or career path. I also find people come and talk about career options in psychology or counselling as there are many opportunities for younger and older people to develop a career in this field.
Psychologist colleagues working with Jordan Psychology also have appropriate levels of registration and consultative supervision for their practice Which acts as a kind of quality control for service provision.
