About me

Do you wonder why you fly off the handle? Why you go from 0 to 100 in seconds? Is your anger affecting your relationship/friendships or your job? Do you always react to things in the same way - lashing out (verbally/physically)?

Do you want to do something about this? If so, then contact me.

I want you to understand your anger; see what is behind it and move forward. I can help you to have a greater awareness of your anger, what are the real triggers to your behaviour and then you can start to behave in a less destructive way. You can move towards a much healthier relationship with your anger and this will lead to happier relationships with partners/friends and colleagues.

I always work with whatever you bring. I do not have an agenda and say we need to talk about this, this and this.  Counselling can offer you a safe and non-judgemental space where you can talk about your anger and how it is affecting your life.

For more information on anger see my blogs on my website/facebook.

"Has been very helpful and has allowed me to express my anger and anxiety. Would highly recommend the service to colleagues. Allowed me to express my worries and to reflect on my employment to make positive decisions for my future."

"Didn't judge, gave encouragement to talk, interested in what I had to say; I have been given the tools to be more positive in any situation; I just didn't know how I could change the way I felt."

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am a Christian and this affects my outlook on life and the way I live and work. I am happy to work with Christians who are struggling with their faith or who want a Christian perspective on the counselling.

I do not specifically bring Christianity into any counselling session unless you ask me to.

Additional information

I offer a free initial consultation for one to one counselling on-line. I charge £20 for a face to face initial chat. This is a chance to come and meet me; discuss what you would like to get out of the counselling sessions; discuss any fears or worries you might have.

One to one sessions are £50 for a one hour session for people who are working and can afford it. At the moment I understand there are so many people struggling with so many different issues and money maybe one of them. I am happy to negotiate a fee that is acceptable to us both so you can get the help you need at this very worrying and traumatic time.

I am happy to offer concessions/negotiate fees because I know not everyone can afford this and I would not want someone not to get the help they needed because of financial constraints.
