About me

I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is what sits in the heart of the healing process. For me, counselling is not about giving advice or directing you on a specific path, but rather listening and empowering you on the journey to make the changes you want in your life and your relationships. I aim to help and support you as you explore the areas of your life you wish to improve.

As a Counsellor my approach draws from different counselling approaches such as Psychodynamic, Gestalt, CBT and Person Centred counselling. I describe myself as an Integrative  Counsellor. I have recently completed a 3 year Diploma as a professional Shamanic Practitioner with The Sacred Trust.

My therapy room is a dedicated space in the quiet and peace of the countryside offering you a sacred space to feel held and reflect. I can also offer Equine Assisted Counselling with my herd of horses, who live naturally free together as nature intended and are not ridden or wear metal shoes.

Appointment times are available throughout the week between 9am to 7pm
Equine Assisted Counselling is also available on Sat and Sun, please ring for details.
My fee is £40 per hourly session, for one to one counselling or £50 per session with myself and the horses.

What is Equine Assisted Counselling?
Horses can assist on on our path to healing and I am thrilled to be able to facilitate this process for clients who would like to explore Equine Assisted Therapy. Horses can help us to become more authentic, and therefore more confident in our ways of communication.

Equine Facilitated Therapy offers a horse-human-therapist encounter where the horses offer a unique opportunity for experimenting 'being' in relationship and experiencing authentic contact. Being in the presence of horses and in relationship with horses, provides opportunities for humans to reflect on their own relational impact, build self and relational awareness and feel into their body, energy and feelings as information for strengthening self regulation, choice and responsibility.

What Happens in a Session ?

In a session, a client may be drawn to work with a certain horse, or you may find its the horse chooses you! You may wish to interact with the whole herd, seeing them, in relationship to each other, can shine light on our own personal way of relating to others, and whether this is working for us.

You and your chosen horse may achieve a task together, building connection and good relationship skills in your communication with your horse.

You may wish to groom and experience the stillness that horses share with those, who listen to them.

Your horse will mirror back to you where you are in life and how you are feeling about this, and this can be a catalyst for awareness and change to begin taking place in the areas of your life you wish to change.Your horse will give you honest, unconfrontational feedback about your present state of being.

Enjoy the videos of myself introducing and playing with horses below.

May the horse be with you ....

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
