About me

I am an experienced therapist having qualified in 1998. I qualified as a casework supervisor in 2001.  Since that time I have also undertaken much additional training.  I work in an integrative manner, using different tools to benefit your own individual needs. Over the years I have worked with a wide diversity of clients and issues although my subject specialism is working with sexuality difference.  I believe it is important to work hard to quickly establish a sound therapeutic relationship to enable you to develop trust not only in me as your counsellor, but also in the counselling process.  I work from home and am based in Fallowfield, about 2 miles south of Manchester city centre with easy road links from the city centre, M60/M56 and surrounding areas. There are also regular bus services to/from: Manchester city centre, Altrincham, Ashton-u-Lyne, Bolton, Chorlton, Didsbury, Eccles, Levenshulme, Longsight, Sale, Stockport & Wythenshawe. Burton Road tram stop is a 20 minute walk or short bus ride away and Mauldeth Road rail station is approximately a 25 minute walk or short bus ride away. I will consider making home visits as long as certain conditions can be guaranteed and my fee will reflect additional travelling time/cost. I also facilitate private training workshops to a variety of providers and trainees. Recent workshops/seminars have been delivered to - voluntary based counselling services, a local PCT and local universities.  I also teach Diploma level trainee counsellors at a local college.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have much experience of working with people from all backgrounds of society and with a wide variety of issues. Because of this I am able to work with a diverse range of issues.  I have undertaken much additional training and have a wide experience of working with gender, sexuality and relationship difference - sexual orientation (i.e. gay, lesbian and bisexual and other alternative sexualities), cross dressers, transvestites, transsexuals, Kink/BDSM etc. I work with people from all sexual orientations to help them accept and embrace their difference. I also work with people who may want to discuss sexual problems such as erectile difficulties, premature ejaculation and other issues around sex.

I do not operate a fixed fee, rather I prefer to negotiate a fee that reflects your income but would usually anticipate something in the area of £40-£80. I am willing to negotiate reduced fees for people on low income/benefits. I would expect home visits, including travelling time/cost, to be reflected in the fee and so would be looking at somewhere between £80-£100.  I also have a flat-rate fee of £30 for an Introductory Session.
