Areas of interest: I am a BACP accredited, experienced, person centred and solution focused counsellor specialising in bereavement, death, dying and loss of relationships and identity. I adapt my approach to the individuals I work with and have helped people suffering from anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and relationship problems at home and at work. I also work with counselling students and offer supervision to practitioners.
Client-therapist relationship: a) We will work with what you want to change and that will be our goal, b) I will trust you to know when the work is done and whether it has been useful or not, c) we will formulate your unique way of resolving your situation in the context of your values, beliefs and culture, d) my job is to build questions from each of your answers that will lead to increasing self-discovery and to noticing the small steps you are taking towards bigger changes.
Let's talk: Most people arrange a phone consultation to discuss what they hope from therapy and to get a feel for what it's like to have a conversation with me.
When you have decided: We might arrange a time to meet on the phone or you might get back to me when you are ready for a session. Either way I will send you an email after the phone call, covering what we've discuss and inviting you to contact me if you have any more questions. Once we've agreed to a first session and send you a copy of how I work within the BACP ethical framework which will cover confidentiality and my commitments to clients.
Not a single session more than you need Sometimes one session is sufficient. I am happy to see people at irregular intervals and for them to tell me when they might usefully need another session. Some people see me for a few weeks running and then space out the sessions to monthly or even quarterly meetings.
Feel free to text me on 07771 667 594 to arrange a complimentary 15-minute phone call. Alternatively, you could send me an email at email@example.com with your concerns and questions which I am happy to answer with no commitment on your part.
