About me

One of the concerns that new clients voice to me is fear of being judged, and perhaps that is something you are worried about, and it stops you from reaching out and seeking help.

I can assure you that I'm not here to judge or dismiss you whatever it is you are worrying about. Each and every person is equally important, as are the issues you are struggling with.

Life can throw us some really difficult curved balls, as I know from personal experience.   Whether you are struggling with anxiety, stress or relationship problems,  get in touch and we can arrange a free 20-minute initial call.

HOW COUNSELLING CAN HELP

I'm so aware that even the thought of counselling can feel daunting.  People often have the perception that you only seek counselling if you have a 'mental health' issue'.  But that just isn't the case. We all have times when we struggle, whether with anxiety or stress and whilst family and friends can be really helpful and supportive,  you need a space to think it through. That's where I can help. I don't offer advice,  and I'm certainly not going to judge you. It's also confidential, meaning there's no fear that what you have said being passed on. I’m here to , listen, help and support you, and then to help you figure out the best solution that works for you.

It's so important that you find the right counsellor, so I offer a free chat before you decide. Try before you buy..............

All I would say is that if you don’t take that step, nothing will change. So why not take your courage in both hands and do something about it.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
