Jane Low BA Hons, MBACP Accredited
If you are feeling unhappy, depressed or anxious in some way, or struggling to resolve a particular problem I am a BACP Accredited counsellor/psychotherapist offering down-to-earth counselling to a wide variety of people.
What I can offer you
I have 20 years experience of working within different therapeutic settings. Together we will try to resolve your problem/s in a way that will give you long-lasting relief. That might mean gaining more understanding of how your past has shaped your present, changing the way you think about certain things and perhaps changing some behaviours too.
My clients range in age from teenagers to the elderly and I offer both short term and long term therapy, depending on your choice and/or need. I offer counselling to both individuals and couples and, as well as daytime sessions, I am able to offer evening and some weekend sessions where necessary.
- When you first contact me, I'll always suggest that you come to me for an initial session to talk through what you want to achieve.
- I will explain more fully how I work during this initial session.
- If you decide you're comfortable enough with me to continue, we can arrange ongoing sessions at times to suit you.
My referrals come from doctors, colleagues and from individuals seeking therapy of their own accord (often through word of mouth).
You can call me on 07887 944931, or you can email me to get the ball rolling.
How I work
I draw on a combination of my humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT trainings. This means that my work is tailored to the needs of my client(s), be that more reflective, skill-based or frequently a combination of both. I adhere to the BACP ethical framework and am fully insured.
My clients bring many different problems such as:
- relationship issues.
I have been working in private practice for fourteen years and I also work part-time with women in custody. My previous work in various other settings includes 6 years in a GP's surgery.
Quote from a former client:
"When I was at my lowest point and it was a struggle to get out of bed, I always made sure I got to my weekly therapy session because I knew that I would leave it feeling so much happier and better informed about my feelings and my life generally. I can't express how helpful it was for me".
You can call me on 07887 944931, or you can email me.
