About me

My private peaceful practice offers a warm, professional & confidential safe space free from judgement. The safe comfortable environment i offer will enable you to fully explore what is troubling and worrying you , & what difficulties/issues  are causing you concern.  If you are overwhelmed & struggling with stress; anxiety; depression;  sorrow/sadness etc for what ever reason ie   bereavement; generalised anxiety disorder; social anxiety (long term or since the pandemic); panic attacks & panic disorder; family issues; affairs & betrayals; separation / divorce; phobias; seasonal effective disorder; addiction; abuse either sexual, verbal or physical contact me.  If you need help/support for Anger or Stress management; Heightened Anxiety; Panic symptoms; Bullying; the aftermath of the Pandemic - any form of distress and pain issues I can help.  If you need help with low / withered self esteem and low self confidence contact me.  Just one or two appointments can make a huge difference rather than free falling alone and struggling.  Pressure, strain and worry within the workplace or at home can take its toll on you both physically and mentally and inevitably shatter your confidence leaving you exhausted.  These problems will wreck your sleep and then each day life with become harder and even more stressful to cope with.  The disruption of the past two years has affected everyone in a variety of different ways.  Is it now time to talk about your worries & seek help to understand and learn new coping strategies, techniques, & ways to resolve what is causing you misery ?

If you are dissatisfied with life, lost or maybe without focus, if you are suffering for 'what ever' reason the space within counselling/therapy will definitely help. It will allow you to explore your feelings & thoughts & how you are responding to your experience at this difficult time. It will positively help you gain a greater awareness & clarity; to unravel & make sense; identify & begin to make changes or better accept things that may be preventing you from moving forward effectively to lead a full and satisfying life. It will also help you confront dilemmas, explore options & consider making changes by exploring the difficulties that stand in your way & therefore giving you some control over your life. To take control of what is feeling out of control, and no longer feel alone and misunderstood, will bring you huge relief and a new sense of calm & peace within.

I am a fully qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist & Hypnotherapist with sixteen years experience. . My wealth of personal and professional experience adds to my real understanding of life's challenges. I am dedicated and passionate about the work I do & committed in supporting my clients to achieve what they truly want & deserve. My core theoretical base is person centred but I integrate many other theories and models into my way of working to meet individual needs offering a therapeutic style that gives positive results. My further advanced training with the National College as a Hypno psychotherapist has given me a greater understanding of the power of the mind and how it's hard-wiring can be explored and corrected. I use cognitive tools and CBT practices which will enable you to assess and understand your thoughts, thought patterns, beliefs, attitude and behaviours. Exploring beliefs is crucial to help replace negative irrational thoughts and for change to take place. This will drastically change how you think consciously & subconsciously bringing about speedy behavioural changes. I personally believe Cognitive behavioural therapy, as a stand alone therapy, is not as effective unless combined with Person centred therapy. Together the results are life changing.

I work with clients who present with many & varied issues. Your feelings are the most real thing you have - please don't continue to ignore them.  I firmly believe, with dedicated professional help you will find resources within yourself to find clarity & peace, an understanding that you have never felt before and a new felt sense.  Compelling powerful emotions & negative thought patterns will loose their power when heard and understood, they will no longer dominate you, and you will begin to gain a new felt confidence & begin to make healthier positive decisions for yourself. Alternatively it may be that you have lost touch with your feelings and how to express them. There can be several reasons for this which can be explored.

I am a warm, empathic and genuine approachable mature lady.  I offer a quiet, comfortable & safe environment for you to explore what ever you are struggling with.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I am guided by its ethical framework for good practice in counselling & psychotherapy. I am certificated and trained by the National College of Hypnosis & Psychotherapy & have techniques and competences to practice in accordance with their ethical teachings.

I have many years experience in support & advice on a one-to-one basis at C.A.B. and Family support work within the home of families in difficult situations. I have counselled in a drop-in centre in Bolton mainly domestic violence & abuse both sexual & emotional and its life long impact.

I now have a private practice that it totally based around the Individual needs of my clients offering a safe space where you will be deeply heard, understood and valued. The success and bedrock of my work is the therapeutic relationship and the quality of relating with individuals. I personally see all of this as hugely important when working in a professional capacity with people who are distressed and struggling with life.

Over the years I have accompanied many clients on their personal journey. I have watched individuals move from uncertainty and self doubt into certainty and self belief, and to blossom in ways they hadn't thought possible. It has been, and continues to be, a privilege and enormously rewarding.

Personal Testimonials can help when trying to decide who to contact. They can bring comfort and reassure you that you have confidence in your search for the right therapist. At a 'glimpse' you can view experiences of previous clients. However I do not publish testimonials because they are considered unethical by many therapy related bodies; they can be fabricated; and the advertising authority requires testimonials to be verified and that would conflict with the Confidentiality I offer my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
