Cheryl Barthorpe MBACP (Registered) Professional Counselling Service
I am a professional Counsellor and Supervisor, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), working within their ethical framework, for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
In these difficult times I can offer counselling via telephone, or online video, such as zoom or doxy.me.
I offer confidential counselling, in a safe and relaxed environment, with flexible appointment times during the daytime, evenings, and weekend. I am non-judgemental, understanding and respectful, and believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is central to the work. Counselling can be short term or longer term, dependent on your requirements.
As well as one to one counselling for adults, I have experience in Couples counselling, enhancing their communication and listening skills, so better to communicate with each other.
I will provide you with a supportive and private environment, where you can share your concerns in a confidential and safe place, exploring and clarifying problems and possible solutions. Counselling is about being able to share how you feel about yourself and others and having your feelings heard and respected. It can help you to recognise and to draw on your own strengths and resources, in order to deal with life's challenges in a positive way that is right for you.
Counselling is not about giving advice, but together exploring ways of finding your own answers, making the right choices for yourself, thereby empowering yourself. It can help to clarify and gain a clearer understanding of your problem, a different perspective, and to develop effective coping skills/tools for the future as well as the present.
