About me

I work as a MBACP accredited counsellor with a wide range of clients in both London and Brighton where I offer individual and couple counselling in a confidential private setting.

The starting point of the work is to offer clients a safe and boundaried experience in which to explore what has brought them to counselling.

My approach is based on the belief that individuals deserve respect and understanding for their unique experiences and that the talking therapies can provide help, understanding, support and solutions for clients who want to make changes in their lives. My theoretical training is in Transactional Analysis which I use as one of a range of integrative approaches to provide what best suits each client's needs. My approach is similar when working with couples where my aim is to work with the relationship and the difficulties experienced by each partner.

Training, qualifications & experience

The qualifications I have from my academic training in education are a B Soc Sc (Jt Hons). PGCE and MA.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP (Accred) and a UKRC Registered Independent Counsellor. I have a Certificate in Counselling Skills (WPF) and a Diploma in Counselling using Transactional Analysis from the Metanoia Institute London and an Advanced Diploma in Couples Therapy from NAOS. I also continue to develop my professional knowledge by attending various training courses.

I have worked for an agency in Brighton for seven years and a large counselling agency in West London for eighteen years.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
