About me

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, in Hampstead Garden Suburb, near Golders Green in North West London.

I work with individuals seeking counselling for a variety of reasons including relationship issues, anxiety and depression, bereavement, life-transitions, career issues, trauma & abuse. I am committed to providing psychotherapy and counselling in a confidential and non-judgmental environment.

How can counselling help

Counselling provides you with the space to explore experiences and issues and identify ways of moving forward with someone who is trained to listen t you, and to respond, in a particular way. Being able to explore openly and safely your inner world and the relationships you have with other people can help in gaining a greater understanding and self awareness. Counselling may be the first steps towards making positive change or experiencing your world in a better way.

Finding the right counsellor

I offer a free twenty minute telephone conversation as an opportunity for us to consider how counselling might help provide the support you are looking for. We begin to explore together what it is that is causing you distress or concern, and also it is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have before we meet face to face.

How I work
My approach is as a Relational Transactional Analyst.  I work relationally with clients as I believe it is the relationship that is formed between client and therapist that is paramount - for it is in relationship where trauma and pain occurred, so working with a relational therapist is where the healing can begin. Through understanding how we relate to others, we gain insights into how we relate to ourselves and find the potential for healing and change.

About me
Born in Yorkshire, I lived for many years in Hampshire where I had a counselling and psychotherapy practice. I moved to my current location in 2017 where I have established a new practice. I also assist on the TA Psychotherapy training programme at Metanoia Institute in Ealing. My first degree was in history and I have a particular interest in the transmission of intergenerational trauma.
