Sue Conway (MBACP Accred., UKCP, BPC)
I offer a secure, compassionate and confidential space to work through the difficulties troubling you. As an experienced and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, I have worked with individuals and couples of various age, gender, sexual orientation, race and background. I began practicing in 1998 and established my Private Practice in Welwyn Garden City in 2003.
My practice is based on psychoanalytic principles and methods which involves understanding your current problems whilst considering how past patterns and experiences influences these. This will involve helping you to resolve issues but, as importantly, offering a supportive space for you to explore your feelings and thoughts safely. I commonly counsel people with depression, anxiety and relationship issues, however, sometimes people don't know what is wrong - then listening and building trust is essential to finding a way of moving forward.
In addition to my long term counselling and psychotherapy practice, I have experience of working with counsellors requiring training therapy. I have worked in counselling training organisations for twelve years providing academic tutoring, marking and as the training co-ordinator. I provide short term focused counselling for clients referred by EAP companies and have provided patients in a GP practice with Brief Focal Counselling.
