If you haven’t heard already, today is Blue Monday, the day of the year when we feel at our collective lowest.
Let them eat cake!
But what is it about today that makes it so depressing?
According to an equation created by Cardiff University just before the recession hit, the third Monday in January is said to be the day when the following are at their peak:
- post Christmas blues
- bad weather
- debt
- failing resolutions
- motivation levels.
The formula takes into account variables such as the number of days since Christmas as well as various other negative factors that may influence our mood.
Here at Counselling Directory HQ, team member Jen has made a fabulous blue cake to keep spirits high today. We will all be enjoying a slice with a cuppa and a chat for our elevenses.
What will you be doing today to battle the blues?
We would love to hear your tips and advice for staying positive.
