Supervision details

Hello and welcome to my supervision profile. Are you looking for a supervisor? Finding the right supervisor who can encourage growth and nurture you, and challenging you while being supportive, can be difficult. I am an experienced, fully qualified, integrative clinical supervisor, providing supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists, mental health professionals, newly qualified and student counsellors.  Supervision is crucial to ensure the best practice for the clients and the self-care of the therapist. Clinical Supervision is a working alliance between the supervisor and the counsellor for the purpose of supporting, evaluating and developing professional practice as well as complying with professional standards. The aims of supervision are many and include:

increasing your self-awareness developing the skills of self-reflection  ensuring ethical practice is maintained

My aim as your supervisor is to provide you with:

a reflective space a place to explore not just client work, but your thoughts, feelings and experiences with clients a celebratory space

I provide a safe environment for you to reflect on your professional practice using a variety of methods, but with the primary focus on clinical practice. My supervision practice is underpinned by over 10 years of clinical therapeutic work in the NHS and in private practice. I hold a British Psychological Society Certificate in Clinical Supervision. Part of my role as your supervisor will be to help you develop your own 'internal supervisor' and to trust in your own abilities. I endeavour to create an environment of openness, honesty, support and respect, allowing you to work through your client issues.  I am happy to have an initial 30 minute consultation with you at no charge to ensure we can work together and build a professional relationship. Fees   Counsellors and psychotherapist - £70 for 1½ Hours Student/trainee counsellors -  £60 for 1½ Hours Please feel free to contact me for more information or to arrange a initial session

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
