Supervision details

Supervision is a space for support, encouragement, exploration, learning, creativity, challenge and discovery. It offers an opportunity for growth through the reflective space created by working with a qualified and experienced supervisor. My aim and responsibility as a supervisor is to promote and facilitate highly competent, ethical practice. This work is guided by the requirements and frameworks of BACP, UKCP and/or your own professional body. Working together I will help you to reach your full potential as a professional. I will be mindful and respectful of your individuality, your theoretical model, level of experience and working environment. My integrative training, ongoing clinical practice and professional development activities mean that I have a good knowledge of a wide range of theories, although I believe that learning is a life-long process. I have a Diploma in Casework Supervision awarded by Cascade Training Associates in 2005 and substantial experience of supervising both individuals and groups, including trainee and experienced counsellors, psychotherapists and members of other helping professions - for example nurses, teachers and members of the Clergy.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
