Supervision details

“Something unknown is doing...... we don't know what.”   (Eddington)Effective Counselling is demanding, it can drain your inner resources, consume your energies and raise questions that you need to take somewhere. I acknowledge the importance of  paying attention to  use of theories from humanistic, transpersonal, psychodynamic, transactional analysis, existential and cognitive approaches.  I am interested in transference/counter-transference issues, unconscious and parallel processes, the use of metaphor and symbolism.

Supervision is support for your challenging vocation: my role as a supervisor is to guide you in working ethically for the best interests of your clients; widen your self-awareness as a therapist and encourage you to build upon your skills. Supervision is a collaborative process: to explore the issues that concern supervisees in their work. I acknowledge the importance of unconscious process and how it may be revealed through paying attention to the therapeutic relationship. I also acknowledge that our identities are shaped by forces that are physical and neurobiological, emotional, intellectual, and transpersonal. I work with the knowledge that our inner worlds are profoundly impacted by social, cultural and economic factors. Supervision draws upon years of experience:  I have worked  in many clinical settings, voluntary and private sectors holding a variety of roles, being deeply engaged with  a range of therapeutic orientations and  cultural contexts.

I am committed to offering my supervisees a relationship which is supportive and non-judgmental; where I enable the therapist to continue to grow and develop into the most effective therapist they can be, thus enabling the therapist to work skillfully and ethically with their clients. I work as an integrative therapist and supervisor. I firmly believe that the therapeutic alliance is the main ingredient of therapeutic change. I also use this belief as the fundamental basis for an effective working alliance, with the Supervisor and Supervisee. I believe that Counselling Supervision is a contracted, professional relationship, that provides the Counsellor with numerous opportunities to reflect upon their work with their clients, in a safe, secure, welcoming, confidential environment. As a qualified and experienced Supervisor, I provide emotional support, professional guidance, and the professional space to enhance and develop your therapeutic understanding, and a Super VISION that helps you to monitor your work with your clients. As a trained and experienced Supervisor I draw on, and utilise a number of different models of supervision. I regularly attend courses to enhance my personal development  My supervision is aimed at an emotional and theoretical level, covering difficult and sensitive areas, transference and counter transference issues with a view to enabling the practitioner to handle the material more effectively whilst  bringing my extensive experience to bear in protecting  your professional position. It is vital that you can get the best you can from our supervision sessions. I will provide a climate in which you can feel safe, understood, acknowledged, accepted, supported, and assisted with your case work.I provide a safe place  to explore and express personal distress, transference or counter-transference that may be surfacing for you during your work with your clients. I will ensure that you are supported and validated as a person and as a Counsellor.  I will provide a regular supported, safe space, for you to reflect upon the content and process of your work with your clients, so that you can further develop your theoretical approach for the enhancement and maintenance of good ethical standards of work with your clients.I a work with other professionals who work with clients in order to improve their wellbeing, including social workers, alternative health practitioners and managers etc.. I also offer group supervision.  My fees: £70 - £85 per hour  Please call me on 07711177891 or email me at munisesabri@hotmail.co.uk to make an appointment

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
