I have experience in supervising both trainees and qualified therapists working with counsellors beginning out on placement to more experienced counsellors/psychotherapists.I have acquired a vast amount of experience in this field over the years, working with a broad range of issues. I offer one-to-one face to face supervision alongside telephone support when/where needed, and I also facilitate group supervision; working from an integrative perspective, supporting the work of supervisees. I believe supervision should be supportive yet enjoyable whilst integrating best practice and safety. I seek to provide a safe and informative environment offering a safe space to explore and make sense of your work and feelings, a place to explore your own thoughts and feelings about both client work, and yourself within the process.Offering supervision that supports your clinical work and self-growth / awareness, alongside, exploring different aspects, interventions and skills.Offering- help & encouragement; developing reflective practice; planning; exploring transference, counter transference & projection; different perspectives; empowerment & choices; preparation to be open & receptive to feedback; develop understanding, skills & theory; to have space to explore any personal issues (however this is not personal therapy); exploring contracting, boundary setting including time management & endings; enhancing own internal supervisor; discuss - similar client history, potential strong feelings either positive or negative; develop 'care of self'; strategies to avoid overload or burn-out; encourage both professional & self awareness; personal development; ethics & professional practice to ensure quality of work Yet also alongside success and to recognise when the work has gone well.Remember also - To be yourself, not a perfectionist, to trust in your own abilities, helping to utilise the 'self' as a resource, rather than become an expert, and the humanistic belief that the therapists ability to learn to facilitate client understanding, underpinning the notion of trust in the clients own wisdom.  We are constantly growing, learning & exploring.Training, Qualifications, Experience - I am a fully qualified Supervisor, independently accredited by the National Council of Psychotherapists. BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
