Supervision Profile

Supervising trainee counsellors and counselling psychologists has highlighted to me their struggles to maintain adequate boundaries between roles, eg training institutions, accrediting bodies, agencies and placement organisations and between diverse theoretical models, therapy and supervision, and trainee and psychotherapist, and how best to help them remain reflexive, reflective, self aware and flexible to the shifting relationship between self and client.
With this in mind I aim to facilitate an approach to supervision that is underpinned by an integrative treatment philosophy that values human relating and in particular promotes a therapist-client relationship that can help training counsellors and psychotherapists adapt to different situations in a decisive manner, yet keeps pace with the shifting dynamics in the therapist-client relationship as they present themselves in the counselling process.
