Profile

I have many years' experience of working with people in distress.
People that I have worked with have told me that they felt “safe” during the time we spent together and that the sessions were very helpful. I work with individuals and couples.

In some situations a few sessions may be enough; in others clients will benefit much more if they come for many months. Generally I see clients, for an hour, once a week.

In particular I have worked with people troubled by:
Work-related stress, Bereavement, Relationship issues, Domestic violence, Drug addiction, Parent and child problems, Illness and disability, Memories of childhood abuse,Depression, Low self-esteem.

I use a variety of approaches in my work. My way of working has been influenced by ideas and methods from Person-Centred Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (C.B.T.)

Research has shown that it is important that the client and therapist feel comfortable in each other's company in order for therapy to have a good chance of working. The first appointment, for which I do not charge, is to see if we think that we will be able to work well together.

My aim is to help you to find your way through whatever difficulties you may be facing. I hope that this will increase your self-confidence and also your ability to enjoy life.

We will work together to try to make sense of what is happening just now and we will think about what changes you might want to make.

It is your right to choose to talk about, or not to talk about, anything you wish. I may suggest particular areas to discuss, but the decision about what to talk about is yours.

My counselling practice is near Wembley, in my home in Neasden. This is in the London Borough of Brent, in North West London.

It is within easy reach, by bus, of Wembley, Willesden, Cricklewood, Kensal Rise, Kingsbury and Golders Green. It is easily accessible from the Jubilee Line.
