Personal experience of counselling by Jane
19th July 2010
I had thought about having counselling for years but had never plucked up the courage. I'm not a 'talker' so I wasn't even sure that counselling could help me. I would say to anyone considering counselling that it is not a 'quick fix'.
In the beginning I expected things to move on a lot faster than they have. I have been seeing my counsellor for nearly eight months now and because of my problems I know it's going to take me a long time to get better. Some sessions are very hard and there are times when I feel like giving up but I am determined to stick with it. I also have a fantastic counsellor who is very patient with me - which helps!
