Understanding of self - a workshop for organisations, charities and the voluntary sector
Understanding of self and others can help improve relationships, help reach goals and gain personal strength. Self awareness can also be beneficial in alleviating stress and inner conflict in understanding the basis of these. This in turn can help your employees and/or volunteers enjoy a healthier working life.
My workshop is an introduction to understanding of self, working in an experiential way. I use objects and visuals to help people explore their inner self.
In the first exercise participants are asked to choose an object from a selection and spend time touching and looking at it, taking note of what feelings and thoughts arise from this.
In the second exercise the participants are asked to look at a visual and to think about a person in their lives.
After each exercise there is an opportunity for group members to explore further and discuss their experience with the group, perhaps wishing to include their reasons for the choice of object and/or person.
The participants also have the opportunity to write down what they have discovered.
All information will be kept strictly confidential.
The workshop is suitable for volunteers and employees. There is no physical contact with other participants or myself required and no role play. Participants will be given a 'Understanding of Self' questionnaire at the end of the workshop to take away for their own use, to help them discover further insight into their personal development.
