TA101: The official introduction to transactional analysis
Transactional analysis (TA) theory offers an accessible and comprehensive way of looking at
- our relationships
- how we communicate
- how we repeat patterns of relating, when they are no longer useful
This lively, interactive, two-day course offers an introduction to the main concepts of TA. You will explore ego states, transactions, psychological games, scripts and more, using practical examples and exercises from everyday life. Participants will be invited to discuss how they might use TA theory to think about themselves and their interactions with others.
TA is a social psychology that offers a depth of theory on:
- Personality – how people are structured psychologically and the impact this has on their thinking, feeling and behaviour.
- Communication – how we interact (transact) with one another, and within organisations.
- Human development – how, through interactions with individuals and our environment, our personality develops through childhood and later.
The concepts of TA have been developed and can be applied across four fields of application – counselling and psychotherapy, organisations and education. However the TA1-1 is interesting and exciting to all participants, be they health professionals or not.
Why might I attend the TA101?
This course will be of interest to people wanting to learn about what makes people tick, or are interested in finding out more about transactional analysis. For anyone wanting to go on and study transactional analysis, the TA101 is a prerequisite for further training.
