The Community Hub, Maidstone Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk, IP11 9EF

This training takes place in Felixstowe on the East Coast. There are nearby bed-and-breakfast establishments that offer rooms from as little as £32 per night (when I checked this morning, 18th November).

Transactional Analysis (T.A.) is a humanistic psychotherapy and theory of personality.   The T.A. 101 is a 12-hour course on the core concepts of T.A. It is a stand-alone training that will provide participants with insight into the principal topics, and it is also a required introductory course for anyone wishing to embark on full Transactional Analyst training and qualification.

The syllabus is regulated by the European Association for Transactional Analysis in order to ensure consistency of training, and participants will receive an internationally-recognised TA101 certificate.

The training includes real-life examples and simple group exercises, but participants do not need to disclose any private information: it is not a therapy group. Training will include theory, discussion, question-and-answer sessions, questionnaires and activities.

Participants will learn the core T.A. models including:

  • Structural ego-states (1st and 2nd order).
  • Functional ego-states.
  • Transactions.
  • Rules of communication.
  • Rackets and stamps.
  • Messages.
  • Stroke theory.
  • Discounting.
  • Psychological hungers.
  • Life script.
  • Drama triangle.
  • Life position and OK corral.
  • And more…

The venue offers ample free car-parking, and the use of a kitchen so that participants can bring a packed lunch or prepare a simple meal on site. Tea and coffee is provided and there is wheelchair access. A small area outside is available for smokers.

The training will be informal and relaxed: please feel free to wear your joggers and slippers. We will break for tea/coffee periodically, and for lunch.

The cost is £120 per person. I offer 1/3 discount (i.e. cost is £90) for trainees or anyone who would find the full fee difficult, and I also offer the discount for multiple bookings: book two or more places for £90 per place. I appreciate £15 deposit per place to secure your booking(s).
