Personal Development Group for Men
June/July 2015 in Eastbourne.
Six sessions - weekly on Monday evenings.
- June - 8th/15th/22nd.
- July - 13th/20th/27th.
Meet at 7.15pm. Group runs from 7.30 - 9.30.
Led by Andrew Hoyt and Steve Richards.
An opportunity for men of all ages and orientations to learn more about themselves, how they react with others, and to experiment with open and assertive behaviour in a safe place.
The group will work within clear boundaries and the group leaders will be active in helping participants to clarify and achieve their goals.
If you are in the helping professions and want to use the group to further your professional development you will be very welcome - as a full participant.
A current or previous psychiatric diagnosis is not necessarily a bar to group membership, indeed group work may be very helpful. If you are having current treatment please check to make sure you have the support of treatment providers before talking to Andrew or Steve.
Men with alcohol and/or drug dependency problems would be better suited to a group run by specialist agencies.

About the facilitators
“As an experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist who has been working in private practice in Brighton since 1999, I also have 13 years-experience working within a well-known LGBT support service as a Gender and Sexuality Diversity Therapist. Concurrently I gained experience as a group facilitator and trainer and I developed and delivered training courses throughout the NHS and various Universities as well as CPD workshops and training on sex and sexuality diversity. I have a particular interest in identity and identity development.”
“After a career in Special Education I have been working with individuals, couples, groups and organisations for the last 28 years. I developed and taught courses for counselling skills, supervision, group work and other psychotherapy courses during the 28 years I was at a well-known independent college. In addition I have led CPD workshops independently as well as for the private, commercial and charitable sectors. I have substantial training in, and personal experience of, the major humanistic theories of psychotherapy, including six years in a TA/Gestalt group as a participant and running an ongoing therapy group for 15 years.”
