The MHFA Lite course is an introductory mental health awareness course.

By the end of the course you'll be able to:

  • Identify the discrimination surrounding mental health issues.
  • Define mental health and some common mental health issues.
  • Relate to people's experiences.
  • Look after your own mental health.

You'll also receive a certificate of attendance and a manual with further information and resources.

How will I learn?

The MHFA Lite course is an introductory course and lasts three hours.

The session will be a mix of presentation, group interaction and a few activities. Our instructors provide a very safe learning environment and are trained to support you throughout the whole course. If you don't feel comfortable joining in certain bits, then don't, we won't make you do something you aren't comfortable with.

Due to some of the nature and sensitive subjects of our courses, including suicide, we limit numbers to 25 people. We want everyone to feel safe and our instructors can help if people find some bits particularly difficult.

You'll receive a MHFA Lite manual that you can take away with you at the end of the session and also an attendance certificate from MHFA England.

If you would like to find out more please call 01371 876641 or email on: mhfa@mindinwestessex.org.uk.
