Level 4 diploma in therapeutic counselling
This Level 4 Diploma is underpinned by a Humanistic core model including Gestalt, Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis and Existential theoretical perspectives. If you want to gain the skills, knowledge and competencies to work as a reflective practitioner the highest ethical standards in a variety of settings, then this is the course for you.
The course will be demanding in time, finances and personal development. It will be delivered over a period of 2 years by a team of experienced, committed counselling and practicing tutors who will support you throughout the programme.
What is involved in the course?
- 100 clinical placement hours
- 50 hours of personal therapy
- Peer learning and process groups
- Advanced counselling skills
- Increased knowledge of counselling theory and ability to integrate theoretical concepts with practical skills
- Increased levels of self-awareness
- Knowledge and understanding of professional and organisational issues in counselling and the BACP Ethical Framework
- Theoretical and practical issues surrounding client diversity
- An understanding and experience of counselling supervision
- Tutor tuition and regular tutorials
The two-year programme will run on Wednesdays from 1pm until 7.30pm, along with at least 5 Saturday Workshops each year.
There will also be a requirement to allow time for reading, assignments, personal therapy, supervision and placement.
Assessments:
You will be assessed using various means including written assignments, a weekly reflective journal, presentations and observed practice.
Cost:
£4700 for the two years, including registration fees. This is payable by means of a £300 deposit and 22 monthly payments of £200 by standing order.
Additional Costs:
In addition to the course fees, you will need to undertake at least 50 hours of self-funded personal therapy during the two-year course.
If the clinical placement does not provide sufficient supervision, students will need to fund any extra costs to comply with the supervision requirements of at least 1 hour every fortnight.
Some placements may require you to complete some training prior to working with clients for which they may ask a fee.

Induction Day: Wednesday 5th September 2018 - 1pm until 5pm. (Mandatory for all trainees)
Course commences Wednesday 12th September 2018 – 1pm until 7.30pm

Minimum Age of 25.
Relevant Level 2 Counselling Qualification
Relevant Level 3 Counselling Qualification (or in the process of completing)
All candidates will need to attend a personal interview, provide suitable references and evidence of previous training.
