Introduction to focusing - Level one
The introduction is suitable for people who are interested in personal development and for counsellors and therapists. You might be new to Focusing or you may wish to brush up on your Focusing skills. Throughout the training there are opportunities to share in the group and to work with your own process.
Learning to sense inwards is at the basis of Focusing, the emphasis is upon noticing messages that your body gives you and accepting everything that you become aware of. Focusing is very natural and gentle and at the same time you might find that working at this level is powerful and revealing. There will be Focusing demonstrations and participants will have opportunities to practice Focusing and being Companions for each other.
We provide refreshments and folders with reading materials and exercises.
There is a certificate of attendance (12 hours) after completing the Introductory Workshop.
After completing the introduction to Focusing you can continue with the British Focusing Association Certificate in Focusing Skills: Levels two - five.
The workshop is taught by Paula Newman and Elizabeth Smith. We are both registered teachers with the British Focusing Association (BFA) and experienced counsellors and supervisors. We hope to create an empathic, accepting, friendly and supportive atmosphere for your learning.
