Coming home to my self - mindfulness 4 week workshop
‘Mindfulness provides a simple but powerful route for getting ourselves unstuck, back in touch with our own wisdom and vitality... the most important point is to be really yourself and not try to become anything that you are not already... being in touch with your deepest nature, and letting it flow out of you unimpeded.’ (Jon Kabat-Zinn, Mindfulness Meditation for Everyday Life)
This course will be taken over four weeks. Beginning in January 2017 and will be in two hour sessions in the evening.
The course aims to assist you in taking better care of yourself and in getting the most out of living. The majority of people learning mindfulness through a structured course report lasting physical and psychological benefits including:
- an increased ability to relax
- greater energy and enthusiasm for life
- heightened self-confidence
- an increased ability to cope more effectively with both short and long-term stressful situations.
- having more kindness towards themselves and others
The aim of the course is to learn new ways to handle challenging physical sensations, mental chatter, feelings, moods or social interactions.
Coming to these classes requires work and commitment on your part. You will be asked to undertake 30-45 minutes of home practice each day, in between classes. Finding this time can be very challenging for many participants, but it is developing this personal practice that facilitates the lasting benefits of the course.
Please book online at the Central Welleness Centre.
