Adopting together: Free training for senior adoption practitioners and managers

Tavistock Relationships is offering another free one day training, specifically aimed at senior adoption practitioners and managers to help with understanding the importance of the couple relationship in the adoption process.

This training will examine the transition to parenthood for adoptive couples and the specific issues that arise for these couples during and after the adoption process. The impact of the adopted child on the couple relationship and the impact of the couple’s own relationship on the adopted child will be explored. Practitioners will also be helped to think about dynamic issues within the couple relationship with the aim of enhancing couple functioning and of promoting resilience. The training will equip you, the practitioner, to recognise and respond to relationship difficulties in adoptive couples.
