Addictive relationships with food
Who is the course for?
This course is for counsellors or other related professionals who come into contact with clients who are struggling with overeating, binge/purge cycles and sugar addiction. It will be concentrating on the addictive relationship people have with food and ways of working with them using addiction treatment models.
Aims of course
Following completion of this day you will:
Understand the types of eating disorders that can be treated under the addiction umbrella.
Be aware of the addiction model for working with eating disorders.
Be able to identify a client’s addictive relationship with food.
Feel more skilled and confident when working with or counselling a person with addictive relationships with food.
Have identified referral routes and support in the local community.
